To the Nth Degree!

Welcome to my blog…to the Nth Degree! The goal of to the Nth Degree is involve friends, family, and supporters with this campaign from start to finish. I will also provide dates of the many exciting events we have planned as well as information and links to different sites including the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and our wonderful sponsors. I hope you all find my blog to be both informative and inspiring!

I cannot begin to put into words how honored I am to be a candidate in this year’s Man & Woman of the Year Campaign. As many of you know, this is a cause I am very passionate about. In October 1995 I lost my father to a twelve-year battle to non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. When I was asked to participate, I gladly accepted the challenge with the optimism of one day finding a cure.

The LLS Man & Woman of the Year Campaign is a unique campaign raising money for the taxing fight against blood cancers. On April 1st, I will join eighteen other DC candidates vie for the title as the National Chapter Man or Woman of the Year. The male and female candidates with the most votes are then named the chapter's Man & Woman of the Year. Every dollar counts as one vote so I need your help in reaching our goal of raising $100,000!

The one thing that makes this campaign very unique is while we compete in the DC area, 41 other cities across America are also kicking off their Man & Woman of the Year campaigns. Talk about competition! More importantly, we raise money in honor of a Boy & Girl of the Year. These inspiring children are patient heroes chosen for their strength and winning attitudes. This year, we are raising money in honor of Alessandro Valeri and Megan Avery. In later blogs I will highlight their touching stories.

You may be wondering where the name to the Nth Degree came from. To the Nth Degree refers to our infinite ability to make a difference. We are all affected by cancer to the Nth Degree. We support finding a cure to the Nth Degree. We will raise funds to the Nth Degree. We are committed to the Nth Degree.

  4. I admire your dedication and effort. I live in Missouri, so obviously cannot attend any fundraisers. How can I help? God bless you and your Mom. Tammy Hobby (Christina's Mom)
